Abstract
After the dominance of Sophism, the renowned Greek philosopher Socrates was able to introduce philosophical thought about humanity and change philosophical perspectives from nature to human beings. He pushed back against the Sophists and a new position for human thought through his intellectual endeavors. Philosophical historians have made an effort to portray Socrates as the first rational philosopher who rejected all other forms of perception in favor of rational perception based on reasoning. Therefore, some claim that intellectual perception serves as the foundation of Socratic thought. Socrates frequently used sensory perceptual tools in the pursuit of human excellence, which is synonymous with knowledge, according to our analysis of his dialogues and the content of his conversations. This suggests that sensory perception a significant role in his intellectual framework. This article aims to carefully examine the sensory perceptual methods used by Socrates to ascertain the reliability of sensory perception. It is argued that Socrates can be seen as the founder of Illuminationist philosophy,
