One of the most important issues in religion is to achieve a correct understanding of religious writing and speech, and its misinterpretation and misunderstanding will lead to deviation, schismatism, superstition, and turning away from religion. This study was conducted with the aim of a comparative study of hermeneutics in the thought of Spinoza and Schleiermacher, which enumerates their commonalities and differences in this issue using a descriptive-analytical method while explaining Spinoza's and Schleiermacher's views on the science of hermeneutics. According to the results of the research, Spinoza, the greatest philosopher of Jewish origin since Maimonides, intended to put an end to the improper interpretations of the Bible by presenting a hermeneutic theory that explained his hermeneutic theory by explaining four basic components: method, author, interpretation, and text, and it was concluded that Spinoza's hermeneutic theory, by distancing itself from its previous versions, has to some extent paved the way for modern hermeneutics. Also, the hermeneutic circle is found in Schleiermacher's technical and grammatical hermeneutics, where occurs in technical hermeneutics between the understanding of the creator and the culture of his era, and is achieved in his grammatical hermeneutics between the understanding of words and the understanding of the text and sentence.
